Digital Waffle is a blog set up by another LiveJournal user darkcryst to have a place to discuss issues relating to the more geeky side of designing for the web.

Phrases like 'web standards' and 'accessibility' may be used here unashamedly. The point is to discuss topics that will help designers design, and coders code, better web pages. Even implement them better.

By better I mean faster to load, smaller in file size, cheaper to run, more organised, accessible to disabled people, faster to update, easier to redesign, standards compliant sites.

Its not hard, but a lot of information has been badly worded, or the technology badly used. So these methods have stayed as something of a grey area. Even professionals that use these methods may be using them in an archaic and outdated way.

The purpose of this site is then to educate and inform so that we may have a better web.
